I bought Turkey last Saturday.
Save-A-Lot had buy one get one free…so we got two…and I had to thaw and bake one this week because the freezer won’t hold two.
I found this recipe on a site Jen uses:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/rachael-ray/turkey-sweet-potato-shepherds-pie-recipe/index.html
sounds like one that would use alot of thanksgiving leftovers,
but what is the banana all about?! dunno what that would taste like!
By the way…
This past weekend we tried Aldis for groceries…
Well, first we went to Walmart because we were having lunch at Golden Corral anyways and I didn’t want to have to double back..so we looked for produce and food for my lunch at Walmart…THEN went to aldi’s
I saw Candida there…
Anyways the canned goods were SIGNIFCANTLY cheaper, altho I don’t know how they taste. There was NO pumpkin in a can for pies and the turkey was higher than Walmart’s was…I think the boxed stuffing was higher too….
so we were GONNA go to Kroger after Aldi, but the parking lot was so full we just cruised it and went to Save-a-Lot where the turkey was 1.79/lb, but buy one get one free at an average of 14.5lbs each…which comes out to 90 cents/lb – cheapest we’d seen altho we’d been told Marsh was cheaper we couldn’t handle another grocery store!
after we did all that we took Summer to the goodwill outlet and she piled her cart so high you couldn’t even see her. I am SO disappointed with myself for not having taken a picture…would have been an excellent blog focal point! So in the long run I’d spent every cent I’d saved on groceries I think! Found the kids some clothes tho…got another kids fisherprice digital camera that works too so this year Ethan can have one..among many other things we really didn’t need.
