Groceries!

Well!  Last night at midnight the nursing agency called and said that the nurse couldn’t come in today.  And it’s baby week so I HAD to go get grocery shopping done if I was going to feed the munchkins this week!

So I had to pack Danny along, which I NEVER do when I’m out running errands because it means loading and unloading that wheelchair and all the equipment at every stop!

So we cut it down to 2 stops…Sam’s and Walmart.  Usually we go eat first, but not today..so we went into the store hungry…OOPS..but Sam’s the killer part is all the laundry and household supplies more than the actual food!  and dorky things like batteries or medicines and what not…so we loaded a cart as FULL as we could get it…$289.00 worth and had to then load it and the wheelchair into the back of the van.

loaded_van stuff_to_load

On the way into the store I was thinking ‘Man…that was too easy’ and as we got up to the door I realized I didn’t hook the big battery up to the vent…so I thought for about 2 seconds and figured since I’m SUPPOSED to get 2 hours from the internal vent battery I’d try it and see…half way thru the store it started beeping POWER LOW…so I had to leave Dave with the monstrous cart of stuff and take Danny back out to the van to get the battery…DUH!

and then getting all this STUFF into the van and the wheelchair to in a way that we could get it out 5 minutes later to do into Walmart, which is right next door to where we were was an issue.

Then Danny started on his talker.  First he said we NEEEDED to go to Deals so he could have Halloween balloons..but I told him we had to do Walmart first so we could get Ethan’s diapers and a bunch of milk…so then he started saying he neeeeeeded a toy REALLY BAD…so we went down the toy isle and he latched onto this remote control Gravedigger monster truck and would NOT be talked out of it…I showed him all the hotwheels and the 5$ small monster trucks…but he HAD to have the 22$ gravedigger!  yikes!

gravedigger

After loading the chair, vent, batter etc and MORE groceries into the van we headed over to Deals.  I’d talked him into sitting in the van while I ran in to see what balloons they had so I figured it would be easy…but….Deals was GONE!  Great big SPACE FOR RENT sign where it used to be…CRAP…so next thought was Dollar Tree…they have 1$ balloons…so we went over there…and it was PACKED…so I told them I’d buy the whole arrangement if I didn’t have to wait for them to blow up new ones…they did NOT have ANY Halloween balloons left…so we got the 4 stars and the weight for 4$ and headed outa there!

Balloons

After going to CVS to pick up 6 or 7 meds we finally got to go home and unpack it all…Danny had fun, but that’s really hard to stay on task and make sure I get everything we will need for the next 2 weeks with him tagging along with us…But I *think* we Got Er Done!

I made Danny wait until we got all the food put away to assemble the FIVE batteries in his truck…I couldn’t get it to work and was about to get really mad…Summer took over and figured out that I had one of the batteries in the remote part in backwards and she got it going.

Danny was supposed to spend the evening passing out the two HUGE bags of candy bars I got at Sam’s to the Trick-or-Treaters…but it’s now midnight and NOT ONE trick or treater came by…but he had fun with his Monster Truck instead…

Now we are ready for the lil beasties to come tomorrow.  Altho…all that chocolate candy is going to be OUT OF SITE because I’m not having super hyper active little beasties tearing around.  I’m sure they got loads of candy with their dad one way or another tonight and they will have bananas and fruit cups at grandmas - (no booies to be found anywhere today so I’m hoping Ethan will settle for grapes and forget about blueberries until Grandma can find a different source..might check for some frozen ones next time)

And that’s our adventure for October 31, 2009

The Annual Cutting of the Pumpkins

I went to Dever’s Market tonight after work and got the kids pumpkins.

They were pretty huge considering they were only 6$ each.

(This is what Danny is saying on his communication device)

So at about 7pm we started making the mess of a lifetime.

I kept trying to convince Summer that triangles are good…and easy…and lil kids don’t have the patience to wait forever to see the end result. Danny’s was done pretty fast and triangles I can do.

Summer insisted on more than basic shapes and the kids were getting wild.  They tried to stick with the scooping of the guts..but easily got bored with it.

Ethan took off and went to play with trucks.  They were getting pretty tired.

Eventually we got ‘er done and put those dudes out on the front porch and lit them and went out to have a look.

Danny and I don’t mind triangles on lil bit…and I’m a hazard trying to cut anything more elaborate with a paring knife.  We have saws, but I don’t know where those paper patterns are…SOMEWHERE on a bookshelf I think…but the kids would have never tolerated waiting for the fancy kind…I think they are pleased with the scary glowing eyes in the dark that we created…but the kitchen is a real mess and I’m already up too late.

What a Find

Dave and I went out looking in Thrift Stores on Saturday. I was pretty much in need of a sweater and some size 4 boys clothes. In our poking around I found at least 7 Nascar Illustrated Magazines for Danny to look at and then tear up. He thought we’d hit the jackpot.

they all had to have more than one centerfold. He tore them out – some not too neatly and told me to put them on his walls. Well…I told him there was no room and asked him WHERE?!

100_6765 100_6755

He told me to put them up on the ceiling!

Well, anyways..he’s still ‘reading’ them…he out ALL the ad cards…PILES of them. Then he found at least a dozen two page poster things…

I told him he had to wait for me to put them up because I have to climb on a chair and put them all the way up by the ceiling cuz that’s the only space he has left!

OK…So Word 2007 wasn’t such a good blog writer

The darn thing wouldn’t let me add pictures no matter how hard I tried.

So now it’s 2:20am and I’ve searched message boards all night.

All the advice led to Windows Live Writer.

So I downloaded it here:  LIVE WRITER

and it’s claiming to do all sorts of things…so lets see…

it installed an all new messenger, which I’ve avoided downloading for years…

it wanted me to install a BING search engine page…but I opted out

Here’s a picture I put in from my hard drive, curious as to what it will do with it

DSCN1069

I see all the font choices and what not…but I don’t see an option to have a background color.

Now I’m gonna upload it to Lindazhome on Blogger and see what happens then go to bed

cuz I got a nurse tomorrow *I think* and need to get some stuff done.

I also want to see if this keeps my blog on my hard drive…sorta like a journal.

That would come in pretty handy if Danny got sick and I was trying to do public updates every night.
