The Annual Cutting of the Pumpkins

I went to Dever’s Market tonight after work and got the kids pumpkins.

They were pretty huge considering they were only 6$ each.

(This is what Danny is saying on his communication device)

So at about 7pm we started making the mess of a lifetime.

I kept trying to convince Summer that triangles are good…and easy…and lil kids don’t have the patience to wait forever to see the end result. Danny’s was done pretty fast and triangles I can do.

Summer insisted on more than basic shapes and the kids were getting wild.  They tried to stick with the scooping of the guts..but easily got bored with it.

Ethan took off and went to play with trucks.  They were getting pretty tired.

Eventually we got ‘er done and put those dudes out on the front porch and lit them and went out to have a look.

Danny and I don’t mind triangles on lil bit…and I’m a hazard trying to cut anything more elaborate with a paring knife.  We have saws, but I don’t know where those paper patterns are…SOMEWHERE on a bookshelf I think…but the kids would have never tolerated waiting for the fancy kind…I think they are pleased with the scary glowing eyes in the dark that we created…but the kitchen is a real mess and I’m already up too late.
