Danny’s lungs

For several years Danny has had super expanded aleovi that look like bubbly things in his lungs…

if you look real close at this xray from last October you can see the circles…that I call bloogs

nothing can be done to fix them and until this recent illness they really didn’t change much as far as his breathing goes (cept maybe the whole going back on vent in 2006)

Then Danny gets the parainfluenza…and somehow..with loads of vent changes and meds and nursing/rt/doctor care and the like beats it against all odds…not very many people thinking he would.

but we went home on vent settings with so much more pressure than we used to have that suddenly the bloogs in the xray above have just become a problem.

Here’s the xray from the May 22  showing something has blown at the bottom of his left lung:

and here’s the xray from today (5/23) shows the pnuemo is huge and his lungs are so expanded from the high pressures that the room in the center that’s left for his heart is extremely less giving it less room to do it’s work

So now Danny’s not doing very well at all and with his bloogs blowing not even the ventilator can ventilate him very well… Very very sedated he’s maintaining a little bit, but his kidneys are failing and his heart is very over worked and under paid.
