I guess I could have chosen a better ornament because I have no idea what that green on his belly is…
he’s a ceramic penguin with glittery on him.
I ended up liking just the auto setting with the flash off after taking the picture on a million different settings. the base of my tripod is awkwardly wide and I had a hard time in my small living room getting my distances right. But…this is my picture so that I could finally take my tree down! And I’m not sure I know anything more about my Nikon D3000 after trying this…I really need to invest some more time into learning it!!
Haven’t made a plastic canvas project since before Curtis was born! So I embark on a Valentine House Boutique Tissue Box Cover:
I marked it off with Sharpie and then used napkins and alcohol to remove the ink…guess I missed a spot…my eaves have black ink on them:
Guess I’ll have to removed that part and stitch it again with some clean yarn.
Went to ebay to try to find something to share with this world that’s been sharing with me…
funny how LITTLE things caught my eye. Here’s what I ordered:
They could be used in greeting cards and scrapbook pages too….so…little is good- the tissue house ‘feels’ big…but I’ve made bigger in a different life…guess a working girls crafting ambitions are different than a stay at home moms!!
and then…just cuz I always thought it was pretty and never had a clear copy I got this:
but….this one is on 10count canvas with sport weight yarn…can’t see me buying a whole new batch of yarn and have the leftovers laying around…we’ll see…it is pretty and the shipping on this particular one was free.
What I really really want is a garage for Johnny’s Chuck Trucks tho…haven’t seen one anywhere.
Was thinking of using this idea and revamping it to be a garage for Chuck and Friends – I think just leave the school bell tower and sign off and it would be a garage…least to a 2 (gonna be 3 in May) year old
I coulda swore I had photos of Summer with the Barbie Camper and accessories I stitched when she was little…but after looking I think maybe I have all the old Christmas's on VHS…guess I better get to work on converting those suckers to computer data before they get wrecked!
Well, you KNOW I had to make Trifle Cups for the bake sale that I was in charge of…since I’ve done it for other groups sales…So I spent a fortune and then 3 1/2 hours and made Death By Chocolate in single serve Solo Cups.
I made 36 cups and every single one of them sold for 2$ each and people still asking if there were any more- I barely can carry that many-the guy at the Dollar Store gave me a big box that I cut down. Each cup is covered with seran wrap and a rubber band holds the spoon in place.
In between making those I was trying to get Lynda and Lisa’s bags decorated with what I’ve learned so far using Make the Cut with my Cricut (which is way less than I have lessons to learn – haven’t spent enough time on those lessons to prevent mistakes!)
But they liked them. I filled them with bath and body products and markers and puzzles books and whatever else I thought they’d like at Dollar Tree.
{the post that froze up and wouldn’t send new years}
just hanging out with the boys tonight
Had to pry my new years kiss outa my favorite 7 year old…he laughed…
Summer got one from Ethan,
but Johnny has been sick and puking every 37 seconds today so he wasn’t new years kissing this time.
Had to keep the boys and us all together because so many guns shooting outside…didn’t want anyone near the windows!
Tonight I’ve been working on cleaning out my Gmail. Took a notion to join a file sharing group like I used to be in 10-12 years ago and I need to remove all these old LivingCookBook recipes I got stashed in a folder to keep things cleaned up. I’m not too sure how being in a group would be anymore. I used to spend more time scanning and organizing than actually crafting that which was so abundantly suggested on my computer
I don’t belong to the recipe group anymore because that was REALLY horrendous to keep up with. These each have to be imported into the cookbook software and organized somehow…I find it way easier to just use the copy/paste feature and collect just the ones I’m using from AllRecipies!!
I want to make the kids something fantabulous for their birthdays tho and a lot of my patterns from the old days are bad scans…we used to have to worry so much about space and internet speeds. I remember Tim getting me a Zip Drive where each disk held 100mb and I thought that was amazing…then we moved to CDs…trying to use them like floppies, saving files until the CD was full and then praying it would close…I think I’d dropped out of most those groups by the time DVD writing became possible….NOW….I got two external hard drives – one is 1TB and the other is 2TB…I got them mostly for photos, which are much bigger than they were in the old days, but they also have programs and movies on them with lots of room to spare for patterns in a corner….now we’ll see how I do time wize…seems Gmail holds a lot more than any email I had back in the day so it should take awhile before things bounce around…but…now I got a two year old that has dibs on grandma’s lap every time I sit down at the computer…he doesn’t wanna lookit emails…he wants to play Pet Rescue and watch Chuck Truck youtubes!!
we’ll see how it goes…got 484 more recipe emails from January 2011 to clear out of there…seems I got real out of focus in that year and just shoved all things aside…..
Will have to post if I actually get a fabulous project done or not!!
